Welcome to my campaign website
Arne Simonsen for City Council 2010
Please join me, along with my Honorary Campaign Chair
As we work together to make
Since 2001 I have worked to make Antioch a business-friendly environment and significantly reduce the number of new homes being built by over 80%.
I played an instrumental role in bringing Macy’s to Antioch and getting mall-owner Macerich to modernize Somersville Towne Center. Antioch became the first city east of the Mississippi to have two Lowe’s Home Improvement Centers.
Slatten Ranch Regional Shopping Center was built! And then JC Penney’s made the decision to return to Antioch with its new store.
No longer do Antioch residents have to drive “over the hill” to do their shopping, thus contributing more sales tax revenues to fund additional police services and maintain and improve the quality of our streets.
New office-flex buildings can be seen along Lone Tree Way, Country Hills Drive, Hillcrest Avenue, Verne Roberts Circle, East 18th Street and the Antioch-Pittsburg Highway (West 10th Street). Antioch is prepared for the economic turnaround!
More Antioch residents have given up commuting to take jobs at these new businesses in our community, leaving more time to spend with their families and friends.
Please visit the other pages of our website for more information about our accomplishments to keep Antioch moving forward; and please call me directly to discuss any issues you may have.
I pride myself on being the most accessible member of the Antioch City Council.
